On a personal note I have found being President a professional challenge that has allowed me to grow and in a small way help progress the profession for NUMs, Nurses and Midwives.

VICE PRESIDENT

The vice presidents assist in the execution of the presidential duties and act in the absence of the president with all powers vested in the president by the rules of the Constitution.

One president is elected from the city and one from the country. They will alternate relieving the president, where practicable.

VICE PRESIDENT (COUNTRY)

This position is held by Jeanette Walsh, Nursing Unit Manager of Maternity Services, Coffs Harbour Health Campus.

As the significant representative for rural areas on the executive committee, the incumbent sees it her role to identify the specific needs of these areas and report back to the Executive.

Likewise, the Society is promoted by actively recruiting for membership, raising awareness of the Society’s Web Site and its issues.

Enquiries coming though the Website are directed to the treasurer, so that they can be easily re-directed to the appropriate person or people.
