Advantages of Membership
The membership is diverse, representing city, rural, private facilities, large teaching hospitals, correctional services, armed forces, mental health nurses, every sort of specialty but we find that we all have very much in common.
Regardless of specialty area, NUMs have much in common. We are your peers, sharing similar needs, problems and ideas. As a group we have a louder voice to make our concerns known and as a group, it is easier for other bodies to seek consultation with us.
Networking is definitely our most interesting and useful resource; allowing support to one another and exchange of ideas at our educationally focused gatherings. Our conferences and supper sessions are well worth participation. If you have discovered a better way of doing things or have great ideas, share it and benefit others. If you are starting out, you will be exposed to a wealth of experience.
We welcome too as associate members, others who are not NUMs but have similar interests to us by future or past aspirations, or just by having parallel careers.
Together we can reach much that seems unattainable for just one striving individual.
